I wasted many hours of my life hating Brett Favre. I don't know how many times it seemed like the Vikings had him and the Packers down for the count, only to see him come from behind and pull off a miracle comeback in the final seconds. It got so bad that I took to calling him The Antichrist (a practice I will discontinue for as long as he plays for the Vikings).
So naturally, it was weird seeing him lead a late-fourth-quarter drive for the Vikings. Instead of hoping a defensive lineman would "accidentally" break Favre's leg, I was hoping the receivers could hold on to the damn ball when it was thrown to him. Instead of being devastated when the final touchdown happened - I remember one particularly bad play that ended with my dad screaming "Oh Jesus!" and storming upstairs - I was excited. For once, the Vikings were on the good end of a Favre touchdown. It felt good.
Bear in mind that the fourth-quarter-comeback count is still Bad Results 10, Good Results 1 (approximately). He still has some work to do to be completely forgiven for the Green Bay years.
